Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the PortableRAG website and the early-access program (the “Service”), operated by the operator of PortableRAG(“I”, “me”). By using the Service or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Early access & no warranty
PortableRAG is in early development. There is no public build yet, and the Service — including any future test build — is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Features, timelines, and availability may change or be discontinued at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to join the waitlist or use the Service.
3. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy. Don't misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, or use it unlawfully.
4. Not professional advice
PortableRAG is a tool for working with your own documents. It is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or other advice, and it is not independently audited or certified for standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC 2. You are responsible for using your own professional judgment and complying with the laws and policies that apply to your data.
5. Your data & privacy
How the website handles the limited personal data you provide (such as your waitlist details) is described in the Privacy notice. The desktop app is designed to keep your documents on your own computer by default.
6. Intellectual property
The PortableRAG name, website, and software are owned by the operator of PortableRAGand protected by applicable law. These Terms don't grant you any right to use the PortableRAG brand except as needed to use the Service.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of PortableRAG will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service.
8. Changes
These Terms may be updated as PortableRAG evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing law & contact
The governing law and jurisdiction will be specified once a legal entity is established; until then, these Terms are intended to be interpreted reasonably and in good faith. Questions? Reach out via the Contact page.
Note: these interim Terms cover an early-access website and program. A full Terms of Service will be reviewed by counsel before PortableRAG's general availability.
